It's Just Business! Those three words echoed through my soul, perturbing like nails to a chalkboard. Tell me when did it become acceptable to ruin a person’s livelihood like the Grinch stole Christmas? I drowned in that proverbial pool of pity. I was stuck in the doldrums too weak to get up and risk being knocked back down again.

To learn that I knew at least one other person that this happened to was bitter sweet. So I asked myself, is being downsized a sign of a bad economy or is it the new face of Corporate America? My dreams of becoming an entrepreneur were shadowed by ideologies of working a 9 to 5 to earn steady income and collect a pension upon retiring, until now. I am deeply committed to my dream manifested into reality, Moodswings Publishing.

Shamora Renee has always had a penchant for writing. From simple fables woven between elementary storybook verses to winding tales written down in high school note books, she has always had a flair for capturing her imagination in words. Finding solace in literature led Shamora to begin writing poems and short stories and eventually led to her publishing her first book, Moodswings.

Moodswings is a tale of emotions. Moodswings follows Sandra Daneen Garden, a young beautiful upwardly mobile Nubian sister with some serious issues to confront. As Shamora Renee says, “The only word that’s not spoken is a thought," and Moodswings puts you right in the middle of the thunder, lightning and calming raindrops of her inner thoughts.

Most women will instantly identify with the trials and tribulations of this got-it all-together sista as she navigates her way through her emotional highways. Although not a biography, Shamora has led an exciting life of travel, sexuality and education, so she has a vast area of experiences to rely on to peak her (and your) imagination. This story is fiction but believe me, there is a true word for every reader.

After graduating from Penn State in 1998, working in the mental health field, then embarking on a career of office ladder climbing, Shamora is still collecting thoughts and fantasies through her journey. In Moodswings, she shares some of those thoughts and even a few fantasies with her readers… and it’s up to you to decide which is which.
